Be Sirius: The Art of Unlearning and Remembering
For those of you who follow The Nature Within, LLC closely, you know I connect with (and write about) a few things that some may think may need a mental health evaluation! This one may make complete sense for some, while others may eliminate me from their contact list. Both are fine.
There are certain questions that seem to find us at exactly the right time…
Where did I come from?
Why have I always felt different?
Why am I drawn to certain places, animals, symbols, teachings, or energies?
This blog connects with starseeds.
A starseed is someone who feels a deep, intuitive connection to the stars and a sense that their soul carries a purpose beyond the ordinary—often understood spiritually as being here to awaken, remember, heal, and help others do the same.
So the natural question surfaces:
Am I a starseed? 🤔
The idea of starseeds suggests that some souls have an energetic or spiritual connection to other star systems and carry certain qualities, memories, or purposes into their human experience. Within these traditions, the Pleiades and Sirius are two of the most commonly referenced cosmic lineages.
Whether you understand starseeds literally, symbolically, archetypally, or simply as an intriguing spiritual framework, I think there is something worthwhile in the question.
“Did I come from the stars?”
“What am I here to remember?”
The Pleiades: Remembering the heart
The Pleiades are often associated within starseed traditions with compassion, emotional sensitivity, creativity, community, healing, and an evolution toward greater love and cooperation. There is something beautifully heart-centered about the Pleiadian archetype.
It asks us to soften. To reconnect. To remember that healing doesn’t always happen through effort. Sometimes it happens through allowing ourselves to experience connection again.
Sirius A: The illumination
Sirius, the brightest star in our night sky, has carried profound significance across human history. In starseed traditions, Sirius A is often associated with wisdom, illumination, higher consciousness, communication, leadership, and the desire to bring knowledge into the world. It is the light that helps us see.
And then there is Sirius B.
This is where things get particularly interesting for me—and for The Nature Within.
Sirius B: What lies beneath the light
Astronomically, Sirius B is a white dwarf, the incredibly dense remnant of a star that has completed its stellar evolution. Spiritually, Sirius B has been given many interpretations - it is the symbolism that resonates most strongly with TNW.
The hidden doesn’t mean the absent.
Sometimes what we are looking for isn’t something we need to acquire. It is something we need to uncover. That distinction is at the heart of my work. At TNW, I don’t believe I am giving someone their intuition. I don’t believe I am giving them their power. I don’t believe I am giving them their healing. I don’t believe I am giving them their purpose.
I’m helping them uncover what has been there all along.
That might mean breathwork. It might mean Reiki. It might mean meditation. It might mean coaching. It might mean sitting quietly enough to finally hear the voice underneath all the other voices. It might mean asking a question you’ve been avoiding. It may even mean recognizing the beliefs you inherited, the identities you constructed, and the stories you accepted as truth—and becoming willing to ask:
“Is this actually mine?”
That’s where unlearning begins. I’m a big “unlearning” fan.
I find that when we observe the deeper levels within, the unlearning process allows us to see the beauty of the perfection that lies within our original essence. Something remarkable happens.
We remember.
Unlearning and Remembering
I think much of healing is misunderstood.
We often approach ourselves as though something is broken and needs to be fixed.
But what if we’re not broken?
What if we’ve simply become buried?
Buried beneath expectations. Buried beneath fear. Buried beneath roles. Buried beneath survival. Buried beneath the constant noise of a world telling us who we should be.
The work, then, isn’t necessarily about becoming someone new. It is about becoming less of who we were taught to be.
That feels very Sirius B to me. Not the brightest light. Not the obvious answer. Not something screaming for attention.
Rather…the deep place beneath the surface where something essential has been waiting.
Sirius B connects greatly to one of the most important aspects of our human existence: discernment. We can reach all kinds of altered states of consciousness when deeply connected to the remembering process. There are all kinds of doorways that invite us to understand, or so we think.
A doorway is not the destination. In meditation, we may open, and be exposed to many perceptions, but that doesn’t mean everything perceived is necessarily truth.
The invitation is discernment. Remember that.
Some questioning that may provide some insight and support:
What is actually being revealed?
What is imagination?
What is conditioning?
What is fear?
What is intuition?
Discernment (and patience) are incredibly important in spiritual exploration.
Going beneath the surface without losing your ability to distinguish what is real is the mic-drop of all inner experiences.
So… am I a starseed?
🤔
Honestly?
I don’t know. I don’t think anyone else can definitively answer that for you. There is no scientific test that can establish that someone is a Pleiadian, Sirian, or other type of starseed.
If the language of starseeds helps you understand your sensitivity, your curiosity, your sense of purpose, your relationship with nature, your intuition, or your feeling that there is something deeper within you asking to be remembered…
Then perhaps the question has already served its purpose. Maybe you don’t need to prove that you came from Sirius. Maybe you simply need to become Sirius about the work of discovering who you are. 😉 Whether starseeds are literal souls from other worlds, spiritual archetypes, or simply another language humans have created to describe the feeling of being called toward something greater…
The work remains the same.
Go inward.
Get quiet.
Question what you’ve been told.
Release what no longer belongs.
Listen beneath the noise.
And remember.
The Nature Within has never been about putting something into you.
It has always been about revealing what is already there.
Maybe that’s the most Sirius B part of all.
You were never missing the light.
You were learning how to see it.
And So It Is.
