“SHE”
“SHE”
Approximately four years ago, something inside of me shifted.
It wasn’t one particular moment. There wasn’t a dramatic event that suddenly changed everything, there were a series of impacts that seemed to knock on my internal door.
It was more of an internal knowing.
I knew I wanted to live differently.
I wanted healthier thoughts. Healthier actions. Healthier beliefs and behaviors. I wanted to become more conscious of the programming I had carried for years and begin to understand how much of it was quietly influencing the way I moved through my life.
So I began practicing.
Intention.
Awareness.
Affirmations.
Reflection.
Daily practices that created a little more space between the thought and the reaction.
I started seeing the world differently.
I noticed things I had previously taken for granted.
Music became more than something playing in the background. I began hearing the intricacies within a song—the emotion, the layering, the creativity, the intention.
I started reading more.
New ideas created new thoughts, and new thoughts created new questions.
I began paying attention to the relationship between thought, behavior, action, and habit.
Then at age 48 I started writing.
At first, I didn’t really understand why.
Writing wasn’t something I had ever considered a natural expression for me. I wasn’t sitting down with a plan or thinking, I’m going to become a writer.
Words simply began coming. They seemed to fall out of my being, stored for years like a vault or dam. They came as reflections. They came as poetry. They felt like they were coming from somewhere beyond my conscious mind.
Eventually, I began calling it “channeling.”
I didn’t necessarily understand the source.
I just knew that when I allowed myself to write, something opened.
There was more space.
More clarity.
More peace.
So I kept doing it.
And then there was art.
My first intuitive painting came from Aimee Blair of Creative Compass and Aimee Blair Art.
Aimee is also a collaborative partner at Laura Ramirez, LLC, and over the years our paths have crossed in some really beautiful ways.
The first piece I purchased from her immediately resonated with something inside of me.
It wasn’t simply a painting.
There was something beneath it.
Something I couldn’t necessarily explain intellectually, but I could feel.
That led to collaboration.
One painting became another.
Then another.
Over time, one piece became six.
Each one seemed to carry its own language.
Personal themes.
Spiritual influences.
Deep Energetic connections.
Messages that revealed themselves differently depending on how I approached the piece.
This is what I have come to appreciate so much about Aimee’s work.
There are stories beneath the stories.
What you see isn’t necessarily what you’re seeing, and yet it is.
Aimee is extraordinarily talented.
Anyone who knows her can attest to that.
But what I appreciate just as much as her artistic ability is the way she carries her gift.
Quietly.
Humbly.
Without needing to convince anyone of what she can do.
She doesn’t have to announce her gifts.
They are present in the work.
Her process is deeply intuitive, and she has developed a way of creating personalized interpretations for the people she paints for. The piece becomes more than something beautiful to hang on a wall.
It becomes a representation of what she receives through her own intuitive process for that individual.
Her pieces literally hold the specific energy that radiates into the room.
This is a painting that has claimed a name for itself: “She.”
Mary Magdalene.
I asked Aimee to paint Mary Magdalene.
I didn’t give her a specific image. I did provide a few different resources and themes that were coming through for me.
I didn’t tell her what I wanted Mary to look like.
I simply asked her to allow whatever interpretation came through to come through.
What emerged was extraordinary. She has the gift to channel and tune into all different kinds of insights and energies.
There are symbols within this painting that immediately caught my attention.
There are themes of strength, devotion, love, faith, forgiveness, commitment, service, and divine purpose. There is also a lightness, playfulness, and deep connection to joy that flows from it.
There is always more. That’s what I love from her art. There is always something else to extrapolate.
Something I can’t always put into words.
I’ve now sat in front of this painting for three consecutive nights in meditation.
Each night, I have written.
And written.
And written.
I have 23 pages of insights.
Twenty-three pages.
Straight from what I jokingly call “divine Google.”
I’m going to keep most of those words for myself, just as most of the original writing that flows from my pen. I share the themes and connections on forums like these.
Some things are meant to be experienced, and this painting helps me navigate deeper into truths. What I can say is that when I sit with this painting, I can feel something moving beneath the surface.
I can tune into the inspiration and direction that I believe moved through Aimee as she created it.
I can feel the questions it brought forward.
The reminders.
The invitations.
The uncomfortable places.
The beautiful places.
And finally, it invites me to return to the heart.
So why Mary Magdalene?
There are more reasons than I could possibly write here. As I shared, Mary Magdalene brings me into the heart. She reminds me to look beyond illusion. To question what I think I know.
To find the deeper truth beneath the surface.
To return to love when fear, judgment, expectation, or human conditioning tries to pull me somewhere else.
We often say, “We can do hard things.”
And we can and do. I truly embody and believe that. When I think about Mary Magdalene, I wonder about the hard things she had to do.
The crossroads she must have faced.
The strength required to remain devoted to what she believed was true.
The courage required to continue walking in faith when the world around her may not have understood. She, and her story, has been minimized and attacked for centuries. But I am not going to get into that here.
She reminds me that truth isn’t always comfortable. That faith isn’t always easy.
Love isn’t always soft.
Sometimes love asks us to become stronger and devotion requires us to stand firmly in what we know, even when we cannot explain it to someone else.
There are so many reasons why this painting has affected me so deeply.
It carries the energy of love.
Of light.
Of forgiveness.
Of devotion.
Of service.
Of generosity of spirit.
Of faith.
Of trust.
Of strength.
For me, it represents something much larger than Mary Magdalene herself.
It represents the possibility of living from a place where love becomes the compass.
Where truth becomes the foundation.
Where faith doesn’t require certainty.
Where strength doesn’t require hardness.
Where devotion doesn’t mean losing ourselves.
Instead, it means becoming more fully ourselves.
“She”
I don’t know exactly what this painting will continue to reveal to me.
I suspect there is so much more.
That seems to be the nature of intuitive art.
You don’t necessarily finish experiencing it when the paint dries. Aimee created the canvas, but the relationship with the painting continues to evolve.
Every time I sit in front of it, I see something different. With each of her paintings, it isn’t actually changing shapes and forms. The changes happen to reveal themselves as I change. As I allow. As I tune into love.
That may be one of the greatest gifts of intuitive art. It gives us something outside of ourselves that can reflect something happening within us.
A mirror.
A doorway.
A question.
A reminder.
For anyone looking to bring an intuitive piece of art into their home or personal space—something created not simply for decoration, but with intention, energy, symbolism, and a deeply personal connection—I cannot recommend Aimee enough.
Those who have purchased one of her paintings understand.
There are themes in these pieces.
There is energy.
There is intention.
There is something personal woven into every layer.
If, and when, we are willing to sit still long enough…there is a message waiting for us.
This one simply says:
She…Complete strength, holding the power of love, light, and devotion.
And…I am still listening.
