Worthiness: An Inside Job

Worthiness, the Solar Plexus, and the Courage of an Open Heart

When the heart opens, the solar plexus listens.

This connection is subtle, but powerful. The heart chakra invites us into compassion, connection, and love. The solar plexus—our center of personal power, digestion, and vitality—responds by asking a deeper question: Do you believe you are worthy of what your heart longs for?

Worthiness is not a concept we think our way into. It is a belief we feel into.

The solar plexus governs our sense of self, our confidence, and our ability to act on what we know to be true. When this center is balanced, we feel capable, energized, and aligned with our inner authority. When it is constricted, doubt creeps in. We hesitate. We shrink. We disconnect from our desires before they ever have a chance to take root.

So often, we hear mantras and affirmations designed to support the chakra system:

  • I am safe for the root

  • I am loved for the heart

  • I am worthy for the solar plexus

These phrases are not meant to bypass our experience. They are invitations inward. Worthiness, especially, requires belief. We must believe that we are worthy in order to grow, to change, to dream, and to aspire toward what we hold as true.

And belief takes time. It takes practice. It does not happen overnight.

I’ve written a lot about love lately—this is my one word for 2026. But when everything is distilled down to its essence, breath is what leads us to love. Breath is life. Breath is presence. Whether we are rewriting old stories or unlearning inherited ones, breath reunites us with ourselves.

Breath connects us back to worthiness.

Breath reconnects us to confidence.

Breath reminds us why we want to change, grow, dream, and believe in the first place.

Breath allows us to believe again.

To see again.

To feel again.

It gives us access to our soul’s path—something the lower self does not always favor. The ego prefers familiarity, even when it hurts. The soul prefers truth, even when it asks us to leap.

Mantras like I am enough and I am worthy naturally point us inward. And when we are rooted within ourselves, we are able to direct our energy outward—toward service, connection, and contribution. Worthiness becomes a felt sense. A comfort. A feeling that resembles home.

There is a fire that stirs when the solar plexus and heart work together. We feel alive. We reconnect with our gifts, our talents, and our uniqueness. There is an ancient remembrance that lives here—a knowing that predates our stories. Breath leads us to this place. And from this knowing, gratitude begins to flow.

With gratitude comes clarity. We start to see the beauty around us, and we also begin to recognize the traps—the loops that keep us cycling through the same patterns of birth, death, and rebirth. This is the human design. When awareness enters the picture, change becomes possible.

We begin to set boundaries.

We see things as they are.

We loosen our grip on fear and attachment.

The fire of the solar plexus fuels the heart with courage. We move toward fear instead of away from it. We walk through belief systems and sticky moments with a growing sense of trust. Even when we fall, we feel protected in the fall.

No matter the lesson still unlearned, we open to accountability and acceptance. When we find ourselves in the hole, we know we can climb out. And we know it’s okay. The next moment we choose is always ours.

The secret is presence.

Staying here.

Choosing again.

Living through the heart allows us to see with compassionate eyes. We remember that we are all worthy—but belief is the key. Truth arises from the wisdom of the heart, and what is true for us is often buried beneath layers of conditioning and inherited belief systems.

When we don’t feel worthy, we move through our days surviving. Authenticity gets buried beneath “not good enough.” What we begin, we abandon. We chase shiny things. We press our easy buttons. And slowly, we are pulled back into the suffering wheel—where pleasantness and unpleasantness rise and fall, over and over again.

Worthiness is an inside job.

It asks us to uncover our own lies.

We are worthy.

We are strong.

And when we cannot feel this strength on our own, it is our responsibility to reach out—to another who can help guide us back to our path. We all do our best in the midst of a storm. This is why grace matters more than perfection.

Living day by day, moment by moment, we release what no longer serves us. We turn the page. We evolve. We transform. Awareness reconnects us to ourselves. Our eyes open. We see clearly. We feel deeply.

This awareness does not ignore what causes dis-ease. It invites us to understand it. We speak less. We engage more. Life moves in cycles, always returning us to ourselves. Whatever enters our lives must be seen in—and seen out—as we consciously create our reality.

When we are in alignment, we are connected to it all. We recognize that storms carry vitality. They refresh us. They help us grow. And through them, we feel more whole.

We are all worthy.

We all have the key.

Isn’t it time you believed it?
