Music… How Important Is It?
The Nature Within, LLC | October 14, 2026
The picture above is from a video - a process that has inspired many creative projects, as they move into form.
Impromptu.
Tonight was filled with joy.
Most of my writing doesn’t come from this form. My writing mostly comes from different places of stillness.
Tonight was pure fun.
Music gets me going. It helps spawn spontaneous experiences in the best of ways. Some of the most brilliant genius comes out through this process.
So I let it flow.
The best writing flows through spontaneity. Whatever is “in the moment,” goes. From compassion, calmness, peace, sorrow, and pain, to more uplifting versions, such as joy, happiness, love, and remembrance.
Whatever is coming up from the inside, is the inspiration. The uplifting times can be very fun. My energy tends to move more assertive in confidence.
Music has it all, just as the song “Music” by Erick Sermon, which is what spawned a humorous, flawed wannabe musician seen in the video/picture ( I may not be able to upload). I’m sure deep down I have a creative artistry for music. This lifetime, I’ll just listen and move to it. I’ll sing to it and be moved by it.
So, as Erick states in his declaration for his love of music, music is his heart and soul.
“I wish Music could adopt me.”
Think about that one for a minute.
How many of us have bonded with music to get us through life?
The good times. The sad times. Long stretches of childhood, adolescence, or adulthood.
Maybe music is what raised us?
Go outside, stand safely beside a well-traveled street, observe the passing cars. You’ll hear music in some of the passing cars. You may even see a fantastic air drum or guitar solo.
Some may even pretend to have microphones, lip syncing as they drive on by.
Music can bring out the best in all of us. It can bring out the child in us. It can bring out the innocence and memories in all of us.
Maybe music can adopt me!
Let the Music Flow
Here’s the flow to the song that got me thinking about music. I’ll ad-lib and extend Erick Sermon’s declaration to move us with his music, with slight variations of my own…I’m not a professional.
Music makes the mind relax, so we can be free. No worries when we are in it.
Whether we are going through it or out for a joyride, music moves us beyond the times.
It gets us in the zone.
Turn on some music.
It will put you in the mood for whatever. Name it, music has your genre.
It can whisper sweet nothings in your ear or blast something from a garage band.
But wait, it’s not your turn!
It can automatically move the body with the beat alone.
Imagine a vocal solo?
Any problems?
Music will be right there.
It’s a perfect pair.
It’s the universal language.
It brings the light, so open up.
It can make us soar to the heavens with a single vocal chord.
It can have the people from every nation vibin’ in one room.
No confrontation happens when that familiar groovy beat comes on.
Maybe, there are relationships of the past… Remember them?
I bet you can think of a friend right now and link to a familiar song. Maybe it’s a mom or dad, car rides to grandma’s.
Music carries a soul.
It makes a happy day more memorable for years to come. Hear that song again, you’ll link right up to that time.
Play it louder to move the crowd. Maybe it’s a gentle hymn, letting the clouds pass by.
You got tears in your eyes?
Some songs get us by.
Songs can keep us in the sadness until the soul knows it’s time.
Then go ahead, we’ll find an upbeat song. Maybe if we play it long enough, we may eventually want to sing.
Keep me flowing, keeping me knowing, joy is moving from the heart and soul.
It's more precious than gold.
“I got my music,” Marvin Gaye sings along.
Music Has a Place in My Heart
I got my music.
I have some from every genre.
They all store a place in my heart.
And, on this 14th day of October, find your angel of music. Listen to the songs. Flow to the music. Feel the artist’s lyrics.
Music is a process of feeling.
The creative flow can come from many different emotions.
Music is a beautiful thing for any of us sensitive souls who feel.
In the spiritual, intuitive sense of clairsentience - the “feelers,” music is a beautiful thing.
Feel good.
Feel joy.
Feel sadness.
Feel pain.
I’m not gonna say sunshine and rain. That’s a whole different song. 😉
Feel love. Have fun. Be weird. Let it all go.
Whatever it is, call on Music.
It will be right there.
