Transformation Takes Patience

Gratitude for the Process of Transformation

Three years ago, I began a transformation I didn’t even realize would lead me to where I am today. Don’t get me wrong—there is still so much work to do, especially in understanding my journey through physical pain. But today, I find myself standing in deep gratitude for the process, not just the progress.

Through a neck fusion, a hip replacement, and an autoimmune diagnosis, I realized I had no choice but to reinvent myself—or rather, how I was showing up in the world. The more aware version of me began with a feeling of being completely fed up. And as I’ve come to learn, this is usually where all positive change begins.

I started looking in the mirror—really looking. At my relationships, at my habits, and most importantly, at my relationship with myself. I began to let curiosity lead instead of clinging to rigid beliefs that once felt like safety. I started reading and listening to things that stretched my understanding of healing, even things some might call “woo-woo” (a term I’ve never quite loved).

Through Breathwork & meditation, I began to hear the deeper programs running within me. And then, one of the biggest catalysts came when I took a Reiki certification class with Laura at Laura Ramirez LLC. That experience opened me up to a world of self-acceptance—and with that came an incredible realization:

Self-acceptance bypasses the need for self-forgiveness.

For so long, I wanted to forgive myself for simply being who I was. But one day I asked—why do I have to forgive myself for being exactly who I am meant to be? That question shifted everything. It led me on a quest to meet my Higher Self, to see myself clearly, and to fully embrace all the parts of me—light and shadow alike.

We are all human. Sometimes we act out of character. Accountability doesn’t mean shame—it means owning our actions with honesty and compassion. When we reflect with genuine remorse, our heart becomes lighter. Shame and guilt, on the other hand, are stagnant energies. They clog our inner flow and feed the slow betrayal of our own soul.

Through awareness, I began to see that my pain, my healing, and my curiosity were all leading me toward my gifts. Awareness truly is the key to all positive change. When we accept all parts of ourselves, we stop fighting against our nature—and start working with it. That’s when our gifts can be understood, nurtured, and shared.

Over these past three years, I’ve realized who my true circle is, where I belong, and how to finally lean into the gifts I’ve always had. The picture above shows me at a different stage—heavier, more unwell, but just as deserving of love and grace. That version of me was not broken; it was becoming.
